Milli Mücadele Dönemi’nde, 26 Ağustos 1922’de, Türk Ordusunun genel saldırısıyla başlayıp 18 Eylül 1922’de işgalci Yunan ordusunun Anadolu’yu tamamen terk etmesiyle sonuçlanan Büyük Taarruz, Türk İstiklâl Harbi’nin en önemli safhalarından birini teşkil eder. Zira Büyük Taarruz, Yunan işgaline son vererek İstiklal Harbi’nin kesin bir askerî sonuca ulaşmasını sağlamıştır. Ayrıca Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın başkumandanlığında kazanılan 30 Ağustos Başkumandanlık Meydan Muharebesi onun Millî Mücadele içerisindeki liderliğini pekiştirmiştir. Şimdiye kadar Büyük Taarruz’u siyasî ve askerî açıdan ele alan çalışmalarda kaynak olarak daha çok Millî Mücadele’yi her açıdan destekleyen gazete ve dergiler kullanılmış, muhalif basının söz konusu sürece ilişkin tutumu bütüncül olarak çok fazla ele alınmamıştır. Bu çalışmada ise pek çoğu işgal kuvvetleri tarafından desteklenen ve Millî Mücadele’ye muhalif olan gazete ve dergilerin penceresinden Büyük Taarruz ele alınmaktadır. Muhalif basının öncesi ve sonrasıyla Büyük Taarruz’u nasıl değerlendirdiğini tespit etmeyi amaçlayan bu çalışma, bahsedilen gazete ve dergilerin Büyük Taarruz’la birlikte Millî Mücadele ve Mustafa Kemal Paşa’ya dair bir yayın politikası değişikliğine gidip gitmediği de ortaya koymaya çalışmaktadır.
During the National Struggle Period, the Great Offensive, which started on August 26, 1922 with the general attack of the Turkish Army and ended on September 18, 1922 with the complete departure of the occupying Greek army from Anatolia, constitutes one of the most important phases of the Turkish War of Independence. Because the Great Offensive put an end to the Greek occupation and brought the War of Independence to a definitive military conclusion. In addition, the August 30th Battle of the Commander-in-Chief, which was won under Mustafa Kemal Pasha's command, reinforced his leadership in the National Struggle. Until now, the studies on the Great Offensive from a political and military perspective have mostly used newspapers and magazines that supported the National Struggle in every aspect as sources, and the attitude of the opposition press towards the process in question has not been dealt with in a holistic manner. This study, on the other hand, deals with the Great Offensive from the perspective of newspapers and journals, many of which were supported by the occupation forces and opposed to the National Struggle. Aiming to determine how the opposition press evaluated the Great Offensive before and after, this study also tries to reveal whether these newspapers and magazines changed their editorial policy regarding the National Struggle and Mustafa Kemal Pasha with the Great Offensive.
