Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to study the need for social approval and well-being conditions in adolescents in terms of certain variables. It is a qualitative research based on the visual scan model. This study was conducted in the 2017-2018 academic year with a total of 150 participants in Lefkoşa and Mağusa secondary schools in KKTC. The data was obtained using the Social Approval Needs Scale, the Adolescent Wellbeing Scale and the Sociodemographic Information Form developed by researchers. In the analysis of the data, the t-test, the pearson moment crash correlation ratio, the one-way variance analysis, the ANOVA, the Cronbach alpha and the homogenity test were used. The social acceptance needs levels of adolescents have shown a significant difference in terms of class and nationality variables. In addition, the level of well-being of adolescents has not shown any significant differences according to any demographic characteristics. There has been a meaningful relationship in a positive direction between the level of need for social acceptance and the level of well-being. The findings achieved in the research results were discussed in the light of the summer and the findings were suggested.
