10 Haziran 1877’de Beyne’l-Milel Salib-i Ahmer (Uluslararası Kızılhaç) Cemiyeti’ne bağlı olarak Yunan Salib-i Ahmer Cemiyeti kurulmuştur. Yunan Salib-i Ahmer Cemiyeti, Yunanistan’ın İtilaf Devletleri adına Batı Anadolu’da işgale başlamasından önce Anadolu ve Trakya’da bazı gizli çalışmalarda bulunmuştur. Cemiyetin bu çalışmalarının Yunan Megali İdeası’nın gerçekleşmesine yönelik olduğu görülmektedir. Milli Mücadele döneminde İtilaf Devletlerinin himayesinde daha rahat bir zeminde çalışmalarını sürdüren Yunan Salib-i Ahmer Cemiyeti, gerek Anadolu, gerekse Trakya bölgesinde hızla teşkilatlanmıştır. Bir sağlık teşkilatı olmakla birlikte Osmanlı ülkesine silah, cephane ve çete teşkilinde kullanılmak üzere üniforma getirmiş; açmış olduğu hastaneleri adeta cephaneliğe çevirmiştir. Cemiyetin faaliyetlerinin Müslüman-Türk ahalinin tepkisine yol açtığı ve Osmanlı Devlet erkanı tarafından da ciddiye alındığı belgelerden anlaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Yunan Salib-i Ahmer Cemiyeti’nin Milli Mücadele dönemindeki faaliyetleri ve Osmanlı Devleti’nce alınmaya çalışılan tedbirler ele alınmıştır.
On 10 June 1877 the Greek Salib-i Ahmer Society was founded in connection with the Beyne'l-Milel Salib-i Ahmer (International Red Cross) Society. The Greek Salib-i Ahmer Society had done some secret work in Anatolia and Trakya before the occupation of Western Anatolia began on behalf of the opposition states of Greece. The community’s work is aimed at the realization of the Greek Megali Idea. In the period of national struggle, the Greek Salib-i Ahmer Society, which continued its work on a more comfortable ground under the support of the Opposition States, was rapidly organized in either Anadolu, or Trakya region. As a health agency, he brought uniforms to the Ottoman country for use in weapons, weapons and battalions; he turned the hospitals he opened into weapons. It is understood from the documents that the activities of the community led to the reaction of the Muslim-Turkish power and was taken seriously by the Ottoman State man. This study discussed the activities of the Greek Salib-i Ahmer Society during the National Struggle and the measures attempted by the Ottoman State to take.
