Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the distance education used in the Turkish Education undergraduate program during the Covid-19 epidemic, within the framework of the opinions of the academicians working in the Department of Turkish Education and Turkish teacher candidates who take these courses through distance education, in terms of compulsory field education courses. In the study, phenomenology, one of the qualitative research approaches, was preferred. In the study, the data were collected with the “Field Education Course Evaluation Form (AEDDF)” developed by the researchers. The collected data were presented in tables by subjecting the content analysis technique and interpreted based on the tables. The findings obtained in the study indicate that theoretical courses are suitable for distance education and applied courses are suitable for face-to-face education; Distance education is disadvantageous when it comes to teaching and it is advantageous in terms of attendance; that various content preparation programs are used in distance education; that the materials used in distance education are prepared in accordance with the principles of material preparation; It has been revealed that various applications are applied to increase the participation of students in the course in distance education and that the measurement and evaluation methods used through distance education are not suitable for measuring real knowledge and skills. Based on these results, suggestions were presented to YÖK, universities and researchers
