Background: In order to inform and guide individuals about healthy behaviours, nurses themselves primarily need to show healthy behaviours and be a role model . Objective: The study was conducted as descriptive and cross-sectional survey to determine the health school nursing students’ healthy life style behaviours and to investigate the effect of training they received and other factors on health behaviours. Method: The universe of study is 154 first and forth class students attending to Kastamonu University Fazıl Boyner High School of Health during 2011-2012 academic year and the sample of the study comprises 105 voluntary students. Collection of data is provided by using a survey including 17 questions and healthy life style behaviours scale (HLSBS). The statistical analysis of data was performed using frequencies, percentage, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis Analysis of Variance. Results: The mean of total score of HLSBS 118.95 ± 19.73 and the mean score of subscales was self-realization 35.47±6.14, health responsibility 21.63±5.16, interpersonel relationships 19.77±4.03, stress management 17.24±3.29, nutrition 15.12±3.27 and exercise 9.72 ± 3.53, respectively. The student nurses reported their health status as perfect had higher self-realization, interpersonel relationships subscale points and total score points than others. As the mother education level increased there was a significant difference between number of smoking and non-smoking subjects in the exercise subscale (p<0.05). Conclusion: The students HLSBS scores were found to be moderate degree. Students received highest score of selfrealization, the lowest score from the exercise subgroup
