Bu araştırmanın ana amacı, üniversitelerde çalışan akademisyenlerin, mükemmelliyetçilik düzeyleri ile benlik saygısı arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi olarak belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte üniversitede çalışan akademisyenlerin mükemmeliyetçilik ve benlik saygılarının cinsiyet, fakülte, çalışma süresi, akademik ünvan ve medeni durumları ile ilgili değişkenler açısından farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı yönde de incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden, ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Amaçlı örneklemeden tipik durum örnekleme yöntemine yer verilen araştırmada, 2018-2019 akademik yılda, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’ndeki üniversitelerde çalışan, 73 kadın, 52 erkek akademisyenden oluşan toplam 125 çalışma grubu ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Üniversitelerde çalışan akademisyenlerin mükemmeliyetçilik düzeyleri belirlemek amacı ile “APS Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği”, benlik saygı düzeylerini belirlemek amacı ile de “Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Bağımsız değişkenleri değerlendirmek amacı ile de araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” oluşturulmuş ve bunun doğrultusunda değişkenlerle ilgili bilgiler toplanmıştır. Veriler, e-posta aracılığı ile Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde yer alan en eski beş üniversitenin tam zamanlı çalışan tüm akademisyenlerine gönderilmiş ve gönüllü olarak cevaplandırılıp, araştırmacıya geri gönderilmesi istenerek veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Korelasyon analiz sonuçlarına göre ise, üniversitelerde çalışan akademisyenlerin, mükemmeliyetçilik düzeyleri ile öz benlik saygısı düzeyleri arasında ilişki olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.
The main objective of this research was to study the relationship between university academics’ level of excellence and self-esteem. However, it is also intended to study whether perfectionism and self-respect of university academics differ in terms of gender, faculty, time of study, academic title and civilizational conditions. In the research methods of quantum research, a relative scan model was used. The study included the typical state sample method from targeted sampling, in the 2018-2019 academic year, with a total of 125 study groups, consisting of 73 women and 52 male academics working at universities in the Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic. The "APS Excellence Scale" has also been used "Rosenberg Identity Respect Scale" in order to determine the level of excellence for academics working at universities. For the purpose of evaluating independent variables, a "Personal Information Form" was created by the researcher and accordingly information about the variables was collected. The data was sent to all full-time academics of the oldest five universities located in the Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic via e-mail and was voluntarily responded and collected by requesting the researcher to be returned. Correlation analysis is used in the analysis of data. According to the correlation analysis results, the academics working at universities have found that there is no connection between their level of perfectionism and their level of self-esteem.
The main purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the perfectionism levels of academicians working at universities and their self-esteem. In addition, it was aimed to examine whether the perfectionism and self-esteem of the academicians working at the university differ in terms of variables related to gender, faculty, and duration of study, academic title and marital status. In the research, relational scanning model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The study, which included the typical case sampling method from purposeful sampling, was carried out in the 2018-2019 academic year with a total of 125 study groups consisting of 73 female and 52 male academicians working at universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The "APS Perfectionism Scale" was used to determine the perfectionism levels of academicians working at universities, and the "Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale" was used to determine the self-esteem levels. In order to evaluate the independent variables, a "Personal Information Form" prepared by the researcher was created and information about the variables was collected accordingly. The data were sent to all full-time academicians of the five oldest universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus via e-mail, and the data were collected voluntarily by asking them to be answered and returned to the researcher. Correlation analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the results of correlation analysis, it was revealed that there was no relationship between the perfectionism levels of academicians working at universities and their self-esteem levels.
