Abstract:

The primary purpose of this study is to study the relationships between the satisfaction they hear from the field choice, academic self-quality beliefs, academic control focuses and their attitudes towards copying. The second is the interrogation of the role of the instrument of the academic control center in the relationship between the satisfaction they hear from the field choice and their attitudes towards copying and between their academic self-quality beliefs and their attitudes towards copying. The sample of the study was made by 715 students studying in different departments of a large university in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey (Women=452; Men=263). In the study, the relational pattern was used and in this direction, the analysis of the structural equality modeling with the correlation analysis of the hidden variables was carried out. The findings have shown that academic field satisfaction and academic self-quality belief are significantly and negatively linked to both external academic control focus and the attitude towards copying. The findings also showed that the external academic control center plays a full intermediate role between the attitude to copy with pleasure from the academic field choice and the attitude to copy with the academic self-quality beliefs. The conclusion is that the satisfaction that students hear about their field choices, the competence they believe they have in an academic sense and the academic outcomes they obtain with reference to internal or external references are selectively linked to their attitudes towards copying.
