Sinemada yönetmen filmin açılarını dünyaya bakış açısına göre planlar. Kurgusuna felsefesini katar. Felsefeyi ayakta tutan sorular kimi zaman sinemanın da sorusu olur. Soruların çoğu cevabını bulamadan varlığını sürdürürken sinema felsefenin yanına başka disiplinleri de ekleyip anlam arayışlarına girer. Bu çalışmada dil, felsefe ve hayata dair sorulara cevap arayan Nietzsche ve Wittgenstein incelenmiştir. Wittgenstein’ın düşünce sistemi her iki döneminde yazdığı iki eserden (Tractatus ve Felsefi Soruşturmalar) ve diğer düşünürlerin onun hakkında yazdıklarından çözülmeye çalışılmıştır. Nietzsche ise genellikle Wittgenstein’a göre daha fazla eserinden incelenmiş, genellikle aforizma şeklindeki bu eserlerdeki cümlelerinden felsefi düşüncesi çıkarılmıştır. Amaç aynı dönemde felsefe yapmayan iki düşünürün özellikle dil ve anlam arayışı konusundaki düşüncelerine odaklanmaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı bu iki filozofu sinemada anlatıldıkları halleriyle Derek Jarman’ın “Wittgenstein”, Pinchas Perry’nin “Nietzsche Ağladığında” adlı filmleri aracılığıyla incelemektir. Wittgenstein adlı film bir biyografi niteliğindedir. “Nietzsche Ağladığında” adlı film ise Nietzsche’nin sadece bir dönemini anlatır. Büyük bir bölümü kurgu olduğu için araştırmaya farklı bir renk getireceği düşünülmüştür. Çalışma için seçilmiş iki filmde, iki düşünürün incelenen eserlerindeki sözlerin ve anlam arayışlarının izleri sürülmüştür.
In cinema, the director plans the angles of the film in accordance with his/her perspective on the world. S/he adds his/her philosophy to his fiction. Questions which keep philosophy alive sometimes become the questions of cinema. Most of the questions seek for a meaning by integrating other disciplines, while they remain unanswered. The aim of this study was to investigate Nietzsche and Wittgenstein, who seek answers to questions about language, philosophy, and life. Thinking system of Wittgenstein bases on language phenomenon. According to Wittgenstein, a philosopher should purge mysteries from human beings resolving the meanings of words, namely the language itself. Nietzsche, on the other hand, was studied in more detail than Wittgenstein, and his philosophical thought was derived from the sentences in these works, generally in the form of aphorisms. The aim was to focus on the thoughts of two thinkers who did not practice philosophy in the same period, especially on the search for language and meaning. The main purpose of this paper was to analyze these philosophers, Wittgenstein and Nietzsche, as narrated in the movie Wittgenstein directed by Derek Jarman in 1993 and the movie When Nietzsche Wept directed by Pinchas Perry in 2007. The movie named Wittgenstein is a biography. The movie "When Nietzsche Wept" only tells about one period of Nietzsche. Since it mainly consists of fiction, it is thought that it would bring a different perspective to the study. In the two films selected for the study, the traces of the words and the search for meaning in the analyzed works of the two thinkers were traced.
