Bu çalışmada, 2004 yılında Ben H. Bagdikian’ın kaleme aldığı ve 2016 yılında Emine Eminel’in çevirisini yaptığı “Yeni Medya Tekeli” başlıklı kitabın incelenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Kitapta, kitlesel dünyadaki medyanın küresel ölçekteki etkisinden sıkça bahsedilmektedir. Medya sektöründe tekel oluşturma ve medya içerikleriyle eğitilen halkı ayrıntılı bir şekilde ele alan kitap, on iki bölümden oluşmaktadır. Politik gücün medya gücü ile elde tutulduğunu anlatan kitapta, ABD’de faaliyet gösteren medya devleri ve bunların birleşimleri incelenmektedir.
This study aims to analyze the book "New Media Monopoly" written by Ben H. Bagdikian in 2004 and translated by Emine Eminel in 2016. The book makes frequent references to the global impact of media in the mass world. The book, which deals in detail with the creation of monopolies in the media sector and the public educated through media content, consists of twelve chapters. The book, which explains that political power is achieved through media power, examines the media giants operating in the US and their mergers.
