Bu araştırma, engelli bireylerin gelişim özelliklerine müzik eğitiminin etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Müzik eğitiminin, engelli bireylerin sosyalleşerek güdülenmesine, el ve göz koordinasyon becerisi kazanmasına, grup içerisinde yer edinebilmesine, işbirlikçi öğrenme ile sorununu çözmesine, bilişsel, duyuşsal, zihinsel, dil ve psikomotor gelişimine, edindiği bilgileri ve gelişimi hayatına aktarabilmesine, çevresine duyarlı ve ilgili bireyler yetişmesi ile sorumluluk bilincinin gelişmesine katkı sağlama durumu; engelli bireylerin gelişimlerinde müzik eğitiminin önemli bir boyutunu göstermektedir. Betimsel modele dayalı nitel bir çalışma olan bu araştırmada, müzik eğitiminin farklı engel gruplarına ilişkin geliştirici katkılarına değinilmiştir. Ülkemizde maalesef müzik eğitimi ve engelli kavramı üzerine yapılan çalışmaların az sayıda olması, bu araştırmayı alana yeni bir katkı sağlaması açısından değerli kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, çalışmanın literatüre ve kendisinden sonraki çalışmalara ışık tutma düşüncesi sevindiricidir

The importance of music education in the development characteristics of disabled individuals

Abstract:

This study aims to study the influence of music education on the development characteristics of disabled individuals. Music education contributes to the socialization of persons with disabilities, the acquisition of hands and eyes coordination skills, the ability to place within the group, collaborative learning and solving problems, the cognitive, sensory, mental, language and psychomotor development, the ability to transfer the knowledge and development they obtain to life, the development of sensitive and relevant persons around and the development of responsibility consciousness; shows an important dimension of music education in the development of persons with disabilities. This study, which is a quality study based on the visual model, pointed to the developmental contributions of music education to different obstacles. Unfortunately, in our country, the small number of studies on music education and the concept of disabled makes this research valuable in terms of providing a new contribution to the field. In this context, the idea of the study to keep light on literature and its subsequent studies is pleasant.

This research has aimed to investigate the effect of music education on handicapped individuals’ developmental features. Music education is one of most significant keys in the development of handicapped individuals as it motivates them to be more sociable, helps those individuals to gain gesture coordination, enables them to join a special group and to solve a problem with cooperative learning, contributes to their cognitive, affective, mental, linguistic and psychomotor development, helps them to transfer these acquisition and development to their lives, and supports individuals in becoming environmentally- conscious and acquiring sense of responsibility. In this qualitative study which is based on literature review method, the formative contribution of musical education to different handicapped groups has been emphasized on. Unfortunately, in our country, the number of study on music education and on handicapped content is so limited that this study is very valuable in terms of a fresh contribution to this field. In this context, the notion that this study will light the way of future studies is pleasing
