Abstract:

Colors are one of the ways people perceive the world. Colors in each language are specified through specific words or word groups. The main color names enter the basic word of a language and are unique. In human consciousness, the sum of information about the colors determines the perception of the color of the people to whom they belong. Therefore, colors symbolize certain concepts in each culture and hold an important place in nonverbal communication. This color function is related to its cultural dimensions. The functions and meanings of the color names used in the language appear in the word groups that are created when combined with other words. Therefore, it is useful to study the cultural size of the colors and the linguistic size of the names of colors in the language. In the current article, the two different languages and two cultures used and the words containing color names have been tried to identify similarities and differences by researching the meaning scientifically. The research has used the analysis of the components and the distribution of the methods of illustration, comparative analysis and mixed analysis as well as the analysis of the components that are used to study the deep meaning of words in the science of meaning. During the research, the findings have been found that three main color names (black, white, red) are more frequently passed in both Russian and Turkish terms, that some color names (grey, orange, lacivert) are never used in Turkish terms, and that there is probably a structural and meaningful equality between the terms granted to the languages through citation.
