Bediüzzaman Said Nursi, yazmış olduğu Risale-i Nur isimli tefsiriyle Kur’an’ın nice sırlarının daha iyi anlaşılmasına vesile olmuştur. Kendisi pek çok Kur’anî sırları önce çekirdekler şeklinde görmüş, kaydetmiş, sonra bunları biraz daha açarak “Mesnevi-i Arabî-i Nuri”yi yani “Nurun Arabî Mesnevisi”ni yazmıştır. Bu hakikatlerin daha geniş açılımını ise Nur Risaleleriyle yapmıştır. Nurun Arabî Mesnevi’si veya ilk tercümedeki ismiyle “Mesnevi-i Nuriye”, 1920 - 1927 yılları arasında yazılan 13 ayrı dersten meydana gelmiştir. Arabî Mesnevi’yi ilk defa Arapça aslından Türkçeye Bediüzzamanın kardeşi Abdülmecid Nursi çevirmiştir. Abdülmecid Efendi’nin tercümesi, akıcı bir tercümedir. Ancak Arabî aslıyla karşılaştırıldığı zaman, asıl metnin üçte ikisinin tercümesi olduğu görülür. Geriye kalan üçte birlik kısımda gerçekten de çok önemli hakîkatler yer almaktadır. Öte yandan tercüme edilen kısımda yer yer atlamalar, eksiklikler, az da olsa yanlış tercümeler bulunmaktadır. Böyle olunca, Mesnevi’nin yeniden gözden geçirilmesi, hatta yeni bir tercümesinin yapılması bir ihtiyaç olarak görülmektedir.

He saw many of the Quran’s secrets first in the form of core, and then opened them a little more and wrote “Mesnevi-i Arabî-i Nuri” or “Nurun Arabî Mesnevisi”. Nurun Arabî Mesnevi’si or the first translation of the name “Mesnevi-i Nuriye” consisted of 13 separate lessons written between 1920 and 1927. The Arabic Mesnevi was first translated from Arabic to Turkish by the brother of Bediüzzaman Abdülmecid Nursi. The translation of Abdurrahman is a straightforward translation. But when Arabic is actually compared, it appears that the original text is a translation of two-thirds. The remaining third of the unity is really a very important part of truth. On the other hand, in the translated section there are land jumpings, shortcomings, even a few wrong translations. When that happens, the revision of Mesnevi, even making a new translation, is seen as a need.
