INTRODUCTION: To determine the possible relationship between sinonasal pathologies and types of concha bullosa. METHODS: Computed CT scans of 75 patients with concha bullosa were analyzed retrospectively. The bullous middle turbinates were classified as lamellar, bulbous, and extensive according to the localization of aeration of middle conchas. The association (if any) between each type of concha bullosa, sinus pathology and nasal septum deviation were investigated in each group. RESULTS: The most common sinonasal pathology associated with CB was SD (68 patients, 90.6 %). Sinus involvement was seen in 51 (68 %). patients Maxillary sinus was the most commonly involved sinus (62.6 %), followed by the ethmoid sinuses (20 %). Among the CB types, the incidence of SD and sinus pathologies was found to be similar. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: No significant differences between incidence and distribution of sinonasal pathologies were observed in patients who were classified according to the types of their CB.
