Abstract:

Influenced by Sheikh Muhammed Abduh's thoughts, Mehmed Âkif Ersoy translated his article titled Unity and Domination. In this article, Abduh emphasizes that nations who assimilate the concept of unity, that is, divine unity, ensure their national survival. By ensuring the unity of the enlightened people with the political gathering of unity, it causes a domination process that results in strengthening and spreading in the lives of nations; Otherwise, he states that nations enter into a process of discord, corruption and disintegration, causing the enlightened people to move away from unity. Ersoy, who connects the deterioration of tawhid in Safahat to the disintegration of the scholars, states that the scholars distanced themselves from the villagers. He sees the folk intellectual split as a kind of scholars folk split. The poet, who likens the thinkers of the nation to the brain and the people to the body, states that the harmony of the two creates a harmony in life. Ersoy verses these thoughts by supporting them with verses and hadiths in Safahat. In this context, in our article, we will examine the relationship between unity and domination in Safahat.
