In the Çatalca province, located in the west of Istanbul, there were approximately 30 churches before the population exchange between Turkey and Greece (1923-1930), but only eight churches were able to come to the present day. Six of them were protected because they were converted to the mosque after the exchange, and both were destroyed because they were not used for any other function. In this study, the process of transformation and architectural characteristics of the churches in the province of Çatalca, converted to the mosque after the exchange, were studied. Built between the end of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century, these basilical plan scheme churches are mostly structures built using three-floor, five-covered, rubber and moloz stones. These structures, with their common history and close locations that trigger the transformation process, have the potential to be evaluated in the framework of a cultural path. In this regard, it is believed that the establishment of a museum that will support the disclosure of their unknown history, the process of preservation of cultural assets and the architectural characteristics will play an important role in the introduction to more people.
