Abstract:

Aim of the research; To analyze the works of Kristina Alisauskaite, Ewa Juszkiewicz, GL Brierley, Kinga Nowak and Carla Busuttil, who are prominent artists in contemporary painting, and to realize what the images in their works are. Image, concept and idea from art practices; It is one of the most important phenomena of contemporary art. To know how selected artists deal with these phenomena in their works; is another aim of the research. Considering that they will have information about the contemporary art of painting, these artists are included. The works of Kristina Alisauskaite, Ewa Juszkiewicz, GL Brierley, Kinga Nowak and Carla Busuttil in contemporary painting constitute the scope and limitations of the research. In the research, the works were compared by giving examples from different artists. The problems of the research are as follows: What are the elements that trigger the image in art? Why is the relationship between image, concept and idea important in contemporary art? How does the deconstruction of the image take place in the art of painting? Who are the artists who deal with the relationship between image and idea in contemporary painting? It is hoped that in the light of the answers to such questions, the connection between the past and the present of the image will be revealed.
