1977 yılında verilmeye başlanan Aga Khan Mimarlık ödülleri kuruluş amacı olarak temelde İslam Coğrafyalarındaki yapılı çevrenin iyileştirilmesi üzerine kuruludur. Postmodern söylemlerin ön planda olduğu bu yıllarda farklı coğrafyalara ait olan bu düşünce mimarlık alanında yaygındır. Batı mimarlığına karşısına Doğu ikilemini koyarak yola çıkan Aga Khan Mimarlık Ödülleri’nde özellikle 2000’lerden sonra milenyumun gelişiyle ve özellikle bilgisayar teknolojisindeki gelişmelerle tüm dünyada teknoloji ve mimarlık ilişkisi gbir güç gösterme aracına dönmüştür. Bu çalışma 2002-2004 Aga Khan Ödül döneminden günümüze ödül kazanan ve kriter olarak teknoloji vurgusu yapılan üç yapı olan Cesar Pelli’nin Patronas Kuleleri (2002-2004), WOHA Architects tarafından tasarlanan Moulmein Rise Konut Kulesi (2004-2007) ve Zaha Hadid tarafondan tasarlanan Issam Fares Enstitüsü’nü ele almaktadır. Method olarak seçilen 3 yapının ödül döngüsüne ait jüri üyeleri, ödül alım nedenleri ve bu nedenlerin teknoloji ile kurduğu ilişki incelenmiştir. Aga Khan Mimarlık Ödülleri’nin çok uluslu ve çok kültürlü yapısıyla dünyanın kaçınılmaz bir gerçeği olan etkileşiminin sonucu olarak teknolojinin dünyanın bir çok ülkesindekine benzer bir yaklaşımla uygulandığı görülmüştür.
The Aga Khan Architecture Awards, which began to be awarded in 1977, is based on the improvement of the built environment in the Islamic Geography. This thought, which belongs to different geographies in these years where postmodern speeches are in the forefront, is common in the architecture field. Aga Khan’s Architecture Awards, which began with the Eastern duality in front of Western architecture, especially after the 2000s, with the arrival of the millennium and especially with the developments in computer technology, the technology and architecture relations around the world have become a powerful instrument. This study deals with Cesar Pelli's Patronas Towers (2002-2004), the Moulmein Rise Housing Tower (2004-2007) designed by WOHA Architects, and the Issam Fares Institute designed by Zaha Hadid, which have been awarded prizes from the 2002-2004 Aga Khan Prize period to the present day. The 3 structures selected as the method have been examined by the jury members of the prize cycle, the reasons for the prize acquisition and the relationship that these reasons establish with technology. As a result of the interaction of the Aga Khan Architecture Awards with its multinational and multicultural structure, the technology has been applied in a similar approach as in many countries of the world.
Founded in 1977, the Aga Khan Architecture Awards are mainly based on the improvement of the built environment in Islamic geographies. At the Aga Khan Awards for Architecture, which set out by putting the Eastern dilemma against Western architecture, especially with the arrival of the millennium the relationship between technology and architecture has changed. In this context, this study analysed the three buildings, Patronas Towers, designed by Cesar Pelli, Moulmein Rise Residential Tower designed by WOHA Architects and Issam Fares Enstitute designed by Zaha Hadid. These three awarded buildings were examined with the concept of technology. Aga Khan Architecture Awards with its multinational and multicultural structure, these three buildings with their technological approaches offer a platform for discussion that goes beyond the limits of the definition of Islamic Architecture.
