Abstract:

The aim of this study is to reveal the similar and different aspects of the postgraduate theses in Turkey on "Social Constructivism" as a whole. The data source of the study consists of the theses in the database of CoHE National Thesis Center in the years 2000-2022. In the study, categorical analysis was carried out within the scope of descriptive content analysis method. Accordingly, the limited number of postgraduate theses on social constructivism are only in public universities; It is seen that it is more common in Istanbul, West Marmara, Aegean regions, and not at all in the Mediterranean, West/East Black Sea, and Northeast Anatolia. While the education level in which the theses in which the research is examined is applied is mostly secondary school, the expression "primary education" is mostly used instead of the primary school-secondary school distinction in the Turkish Education System 4+4+4 arrangement; In similar number of doctoral and master's theses, experimental research, random sampling method and questionnaire are frequently preferred as data collection tools; It has been determined that t-test and descriptive statistics methods are concentrated in data analysis, and also ANOVA, ANCOVA, nonparametric tests (Chi-Square, Mann Whitney U),content analysis from qualitative data analysis methods are used. According to the research findings, it is recommended to differentiate education levels in postgraduate studies, to make a distinction as primary school/secondary school instead of primary education, and to diversify in sample type and research designs.
