Abstract:

Purpose: This methodological type of study was conducted with the aim of adapting and ensuring the validity of the "PRE-DELIRIC score" delirium predictive model to Turkey in patients in the intensive care unit (YBU). The research was conducted with 172 patients treated in a educational and research hospital between October 2019 and April 2020. The data has been collected with (1) the information form for the identifying characteristics of the participants, (2) the PRE-DELIRIC score and (3) the Confusion Assessment Form (CAM-ICU) in the IU. For the determination of the cutting point according to groups, the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis and diagnostic scan tests were used. The sensitivity and personality characteristics of the score were calculated. The value was estimated at p<0.05. Results: The Cutting Point for the PRE-DELIRIC score (≥7,58) and the statistically meaningful relationship between the groups (p=0,003) have been established. PRE-DELIRIC score is 7.58 and above and the risk of being CAM-ICU positive is 7.404 times higher [(OR: 7.404; 95% confidence range (GA: 1.638-33.469)]. The remaining area under the ROC curve is 64.9 % (95 % GA: 0.538-0.760) and the standard error is 5.6 % (p=0.044). Result: In this study, the PRE-DELIRIC score found that it had reliable results. It is considered important for patients with the potential for development of delirium in YBUs, it is recommended to use it as a useful score that is easy to apply and calculate.
