The main purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the academic self-perception and academic achievement of seventh grade middle school students. Academic success; while it is a concrete and object concept, academic self-perception is an abstract and affective personality trait. How these two variables affect each other under what conditions has been the subject of many studies. In this context, our study emphasizes that creating an academic self-perception is the basic step towards success, by referring to the self integrity that people try to develop and mature throughout life and its parts. This study is important in terms of examining the concept of self, which includes people's thoughts about themselves, and the academic self-perception in which this concept is compatible with academic life and shedding light on the internal processes of our students. The study population of the research patterned in the relational survey model consists of the seventh grade students of Hatice-İsmail Hakkı Kayan Secondary School in Mudanya District (N=90). Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (Kandemir, 2010) was used to collect data related to the research. While analyzing the data, statistical analysis of correlation and t-test analysis was applied over IBM SPSS 22.00 statistical package program. In correlation analysis; the scale scores of the students and their achievement grades in their core courses were entered as data, and it was examined whether there was a significant relationship between these variables, and the relationship between the gender variable and their grades and academic self-perception was determined by t-test results. When the findings of the study were summarized in general, it was found that academic self-perception scores and lecture grades showed a positive correlation, and it was seen that the gender variable was not related to students' course grades or academic self-perceptions.
