Alphabet Revolution that took place after the State of the Republic of Turkey is one of the most important revolutions. On November 1, 1928, after the adoption of the new Turkish alphabet, the alphabet based on Arabic letters was abolished and the new Latin based alphabet started to be used. At this time, National Schools was opened on January 1, 1929, to teach the alphabet and literacy education was applied in every part of the society. National Schools played an important role in learning the rules of daily life and citizenship as well as learning new letters. For these reasons, it understood that National Schools which had classroom in the whole country, has provided significant contributions to the education history of Turkey. In this study, general and basic information about the National Schools that established in all provinces, districts, and villages of Turkey between the years of 1928-1936 were presented whereas especially statistical information about the National Scholl established in Malatya were given.
