Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to study whether university students’ personality characteristics are significantly influenced by their decision-making styles and creative thinking skills. Decisioning styles, personality characteristics and creative thinking skills are also the sub-purpose of the research, whether or not significantly differentiate from gender. The study included 419 university students who studied and taught at various universities in Istanbul. The data collection tools have been used as personal information forms, the scale of reasonable and intuitive decision-making styles, the scale of Marmara Creative Thought Trends and the personality test based on qualities. In the analysis of the data, the t test, the Pearson Moment's Collapse Correlation Factor and the multi-linear regression analysis were performed. The study found that girls think more intuitively according to gender, and that the intellectual way of thinking does not differ from girls and boys. From the perspective of creative thinking, it is found that men are more courageous and curious. In terms of personality characteristics, it has been achieved the result that women show more of their emotional imbalance, outwardness, experience openness and soft head personality characteristics than men. From personality characteristics to experience, it has been achieved as a result that clarity is a meaningful contributor to reasonable and intuitive decision-making styles. Furthermore, from personality characteristics, the outwardness, the experience, and the emotional imbalance have come to the conclusion that they are a meaningful contributor to creative thinking.
