Equalization is one of the most stable methods of image classification. However, choosing the right edge for each image is a challenging process in terms of account costs. Also, the methods recommended so far have been applied to grey-level images. This study has developed an algorithm that allows both gray scale and color images to be automatically multi-level. It is based on the histogram information and repeated average approach of each channel of numerical images. First, the overall average of the image was found and the average information in the previous step was reused in the following stages. So the number of edges achieved in each stage has increased. The number of edges identified by another expression has become proportionate to the number of stages used. With the help of the horizontal information obtained for each channel, the red, green and blue spaces (Red, Green, Blue: RGB) are divided into subprisms and the pixels left within the corresponding prism are assigned to the same class.
Thresholding is one of the most stable methods for image clustering. Nevertheless, determination of proper thresholds for every image is difficult process in terms of computation cost. Furthermore, the methods developed so far have only been applied for gray scale images. In this study, an algorithm which works with both gray scale and color images has been developed. Histogram data of each channel and recursive means have been employed for threshold estimation. Initially, global mean was calculated. Subsequently, means determined from previous steps was reused. Thus, threshold number was increased with each step. Accordingly, the RGB color space was partitioned with the thresholds information obtained for each channel. The pixels located in each sub cube were assigned into the same cluster.
