Kapadokya Bölgesi’nin genelinde olduğu gibi Göreme’de de, Göreme Vadisi ile birlikte tüf yataklarından oluşan tepelik ve engebeli bir arazi yapısı izlenmektedir. Bu nedenle Göreme’de tüf yatakların aşınması ile kendiliğinden oluşan doğal ve masalsı arazi yapısı içerisinde, kayalık alanlarda insan eliyle oluşturulmuş kaya oyma mekânlar geçmişten günümüze çeşitli işlevlerle kullanılmıştır. Bundan başka bölgede mimarsız mimarlık olarak adlandırılabilecek, geleneksel yapım yöntemleri ve yöresel taş, ahşap gibi çevre dostu, sürdürülebilir yapı malzemeleri ile bölge halkının yaşam biçimine uygun biçimde tasarlanmış ve uygulanmış geleneksel konutlar da yerleşimin fiziki yapısını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışma Göreme’de uygulanacak koruma amaçlı imar planları ile kentsel sit alanı içerisinde yer alan, somut kültür mirası kapsamında korunması ve gelecek nesillere aktarılması gereken geleneksel konutların irdelenmesini amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada Göreme’de geleneksel konutların mimari özellikleri irdelenmiş ve yerleşimin somut kültür mirası kapsamında bütünsel boyutta korunması için öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
As in the entire Kapadokya region, in Göreme, together with the Göreme Valley, a mountainous and impeccable land structure consisting of gun beds is observed. Therefore, in the natural and legendary land structure that is formed by its own with the extinction of gun beds in Göreme, the rocking spaces created by human hand in the rock areas have been used with various functions from the past to the present day. In addition, the traditional construction methods and environmentally friendly, sustainable building materials such as local stone, wood and the traditional houses designed and applied according to the way of life of the people of the region also form the physical structure of the settlement. This study aims to protect the construction plans for the protection that will be implemented in Göreme and the urban site area within the framework of the concrete cultural heritage and to build the traditional houses that must be transferred to future generations. In the study, the architectural characteristics of traditional houses in Göreme have been examined and recommendations have been developed for the conservation of the settlement in a comprehensive dimension within the framework of the concrete cultural heritage.
