Amaç: Mahrem yazışma ve görüntülerin cinsel tehdit amaçlı kullanılması günümüzde sosyal medya platformlarının kullanılmasının artmasıyla yaygınlaşmıştır. Çalışmamızda çevrimiçi cinsel şiddete uğrayan mağdurların retrospektif olarak incelenmesi, literatür eşliğinde tartışılması ve sosyal medya kullanımının potansiyel riskleri ile bu risklere karşı alınabilecek önlemlere dikkat çekilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: 01.01.2016-31.12.2020 tarihleri arasında Adli Tıp polikliniğine cinsel saldırı nedeniyle başvurup içlerinden çevrimiçi cinsel şiddete uğrayan mağdurların, ailelerinin ve şüpheli/saldırganların sosyodemografik özellikleri, kullanılan sosyal medya platformları ve çevrimiçi şiddet türleri incelendi. Bulgular: Çalışmaya 35 olgu dahil edilmiş olup 32’si kadın, 3’ü erkek, yaş ortalamaları 15,94±2,98, yaş aralığının 11-26 olduğu, çevrimiçi şiddet türüne bakıldığında 19’unun çıplak fotoğraf/video paylaşma, 16’sının cinsel içerikli konuşma olduğu, 14’ünün Whatsapp, 7’sinin Facebook, 6’sının Instagram, 1’inin Twitter, 1’inin Snapchat üzerinden gerçekleştiği, 10 mağdurun ise sosyal medya platformları üzerinden çıplak fotoğraf/video paylaşma tehdidine maruz kaldığı tespit edildi. Sonuç: Çevrimiçi cinsel içerikli konuşma ve cinsel içerikli fotoğraf/video paylaşma sosyal medya kullanımının artmasıyla yeni bir şiddet türü olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Özellikle çocuk ve adölesan yaş grubundaki bireylere ve ebeveynlere güvenli internet ve sosyal medya kullanımı ile ilgili eğitim programları düzenlenmesi, çevrimiçi risk faktörleri ve alınacak önlemlerle ilgili toplumun bilinçlendirilmesi gerekmektedir.
Purpose: The use of private communications and images for sexual threat purposes has become widespread today with the increased use of social media platforms. Our study is aimed at retrospective examination of victims of online sexual assault, discussions in the literature and attracting attention to the potential risks of social media use and the measures that can be taken against these risks. Method: From 01.01.2016 to 31.12.2020 the Judicial Medical Clinic has been consulted for sexual assault and the socio-demographic characteristics of victims, their families and suspects/aggressors who suffer sexual assault online, the social media platforms used and the types of online violence. Results: The study included 35 facts, 32 women, 3 men, the average age of 15,94±2,98, the age range of 11-26 in terms of the type of online violence, 19 were naked photos/video sharing, 16 were sexual conversation, 14 were Whatsapp, 7 were Facebook, 6 were Instagram, 1 were Twitter, 1 were Snapchat, and 10 were threatened to share naked photos/video through social media platforms. The result: Sexual conversations online and sex-containing photos/video sharing are facing us as a new kind of violence with the increased use of social media. It is necessary to organize educational programs, in particular for children and adolescents, and for parents, regarding the secure use of the internet and social media, the awareness of online risk factors and the measures to be taken.
