Abstract:

Since China‘s opening up to the world a lot of western translation theories have been introduced into Chinese academic circle. However, less attention has been given to the development and features of Chiese translation thinking. This paper studies Chinese traditional thoughts from the cultural perspective and summarizes its characteristics as follows: strong Confucian influence; emphasis on practical skills; relating closely to Chinese classic aesthetics. Paying attention to the development and characteristics of the Chinese traditional translation thought is conductive to the establishment of a translation mode that suits the native Chinese culture.
