Abstract In the work present an analysis of population age evolution of the mountainous popular council in Mayarí municipality, in Holguín province. The results show the diminution experienced by the population between 1994 and 2002 years, the maintenance of this tendency in the more distant communities from the urban centers and show the growth registered in the nearest between 2002 and 2008 years. In agreement with the prevalent tendency in the country, the population is bigger on the groups of ages older than 30 years, in specific between 30 and 45 years. In the same way, increase the population older than 60 years, in specific, the group older than 80 years. In a general way, the children and the youths have gone losing preponderance in the total population and the crowded groups of ages are those from 35 to 49 years. Lastly, the article shows the mobility of people from the most intricate mountainous and less socioeconomic development communities toward a better infrastructure and accessibility communities.
