Abstract:

With the Westernization movement during the Tanzimat period, there have been significant changes in the field of education in the Ottoman State. In particular, many innovations have taken place in education, such as the establishment of new schools and the adoption of education in the Western style. A series of innovations were planned after the renowned politician and idealist of the Tanzimat Period, Ahmet Cevdet Pasha, was appointed as the director of Dârülmuallimîn, which was opened on 16 March 1848 and was the first teacher school. This is one of the new ones that has been made in the work of these institutions and has been made in the work of these institutions. In addition to the Dârülmuallimîn Nizamnamesi, in 1857 the Maarif-i Umumiye Nezareti was established and a Nizamname was prepared and the renewal movements in education and teaching continued. In the novel of Fatma Aliye, the daughter of Ahmet Cevdet Pasha, who is the bright names of the time, there are also traces of this renewal. The hero of the novel, Refet, goes to Darülmuallimat, a girl teacher school to be a teacher, and here he gets all the training needed for teaching. In this context, Fatma Aliye Mrs. received the pen in the Refet novel, the main hero received the education, written for the Dârülmuallimîn from the important schools of the period, the Dârülmuallimîn Nizamnamesi, which includes the rules of these schools, and the rules that regulate the educational system of the period, the Maarif-i Umumiye Nizamnamesi, the directions that are matched with. In the study, the method of document analysis from the quality research methods was used. The novel has sought to find similarities and/or differences between the educational system built and the system installed by the norms. The study found that the rules and practices included in the novel Refet, Dârülmuallimîn Nizamnamesi and Maarif-i Umumiye Nizamnames were similar.
