In Brazil, the mortality rate for AIDS reached 6.1 for 100.000 in habitants in 2004. The infection caused by the AIDS virus, HIV, affects directly the immunologic system destroying its cells of defense, mainly the lymphocytes T - CD4. There are evidences which show that physical exercise exerts influence on the immunologic system. Thus, the aim of the present study is to identify, through revision of the literature, the effect of the sharp and chronic physical exercise in immunologic answer to individuals infected by the HIV virus. As result, there were found some contradictions in relation to the amount of lymphocytes T - CD4, some studies mention that there is an increase in response to the physical exercise either sharp or chronic and others sustain the opposite. However, in the chronic physical exercise, it was observed that the training of progressive resistance provoked increase of the strength and/or increase or maintenance of the thin mass in individuals infected by HIV. It was also observed in a chronic way, that the cardio respiratory training, improved the cardiopulmonary ability and it reduced the infected individuals' fatigue. In a general way, made the necessary adaptations, the physical exercise either sharp or chronic influences in a positive way the immunologic answer, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of individuals infected by HIV.
