Hatay ilinin merkez ilçesi olan Antakya, geçmişi Milattan önceye dayanan kadim bir şehirdir. Antakya içinde barındırdığı tarihi yapıları ve farklı semavi dinlerin beraberce yaşadığı bir kent olması dolayısıyla, geçmişte olduğu gibi günümüzde de rağbet gösterilen bir merkez konumundadır. Bu çalışmada 10.-19. yüzyıllar arasında Antakya’ya yolu düşen Müslüman, Hristiyan ve Yahudi seyyahların eserlerindeki Antakya tasvirleri ele alınmıştır. Seyyahların çoğunluğu ise Avrupa’dan gelen Hristiyan kökenli gayrimüslim gezginlerdir. Bunların yanı sıra yine bu kenti görmüş yabancı kronik yazarlarının Haçlı Savaşlarını konu alan eserlerindeki Antakya tasvirleri başvurulan eserler arasındadır. Sayıları yirmiyi bulan seyahatnamelerdeki bilgiler çerçevesinde Antakya şehrinin mimari özellikleri ile şehirde yaşayan halkın dini, içtimai ve demografik durumları hakkında birinci elden gözleme dayalı tasvirler değerlendirilmiştir. Böylece seyyahların verdikleri bilgilerle, birçok dini ve kültürel çeşitliği barındıran Antakya’nın zengin şehir resminin ortaya çıkartılması hedeflenmiştir. Seyahat notlarında tespit edilen şehrin genel yapısı ve sur planları gibi nadide çizimlere de çalışma da yer verilmiştir.

Abstract:

Antakya, the central district of the Hatay province, is an ancient city that is based on its past before Milattan. It is a city where its historic structures and different semavian religions live together, as it was in the past, it is still in a central position today. This study discussed the paintings of Antakya in the works of Muslim, Christian and Jewish travelers that came to Antakya between the 10th and 19th centuries. Most of the travelers are non-Christian travelers from Europe. In addition to this, the Antakya paintings in the works of the Crusade Wars of foreign chronic writers who have seen this city are among the works applied. In the framework of the information in the trips found the numbers twenty, the architectural characteristics of the city of Antakya and the first-hand observation-based images of the religious, intrinsic and demographic conditions of the people living in the city were evaluated. Thus, with the information provided by the travelers, the aim was to reveal the rich city picture of Antakya, which hosts many religious and cultural diversity. There are also works on rare drawings, such as the general structure of the city and the walls, identified in the travel notes.
