Abstract:

Employment of employees without entry into official records causes unregistered employment. These people who work without social security remain impaired in the face of financial and future risks, the tax and social security premiums that are not calculated on their wages, the Treasury and the Social Security Institution are losing income. Registration in the employment market does not prevent the actual size of the labour force from being known and the relative weight of the economic sizes cannot be identified, and the market problems cannot be properly diagnosed. This study focuses on the causes and consequences of unregistered employment, bringing original policy suggestions on the solution of unregistered employment in Turkey. The current policies implemented in Turkey show that there are some problems with the implementation of unregistered employment. The study has studied what these problems are and discussed how to effectively combat unregistered employment by moving from successful country practices.
