Studies about the history of music feed the present and future of music. For the history of Turkish music, having a command of all the literature before the 1928-Literacy Revolution depends on knowing Ottoman Turkish. To clearly and accurately determine the place in our musical education and performance history of the clarinet instrument used by many Turkish performers by entering Turkish music with Mızıka-i Hümâyûn will be possible by reading and evaluating Ottoman documents. This study is important in that it reveals the introduction of the clarinet to Turkish music performance, education and performance environments, based on archive documents for the first time. In addition, thanks to this study, documents related to the first representatives of the clarinet performance in terms of Turkish music were brought to musicology, thus the importance given to this instrument by social and administrative power was revealed. The aim of the study is to concretely reveal the introduction of the clarinet to Turkish music performance and education and its acceptance process, with archive documents. In this study, which takes the place of the clarinet instrument in Turkish music as a sample from the history of Turkish music were used qualitative methods such as source scanning, archive scanning and translation.
