The purpose of this study is to investigate the evaluation of texts in Turkish literature textbooksfrom students’ perspectives. Firstly, the related field was searched to determine what features the texts intextbooks must have. Foolowing this, a Likert-type questionnaire which consists of 34 items about texts wasprepared and given to 571 secondary school students. The sample in this study includes students in Kırşehirwho attend different kinds of high schools and have different socio-economic status. Student responses in thecategories “the effects of texts on learning and learning desire”, “aesthetic, universal and national values intexts”, “relevance of texts to students”, “the relationship between texts and current events and otherdisciplines”, and “the type and comprehensibility levels of texts” showed that the texts did not appeal to theinterests of the students]]>
