Abstract:

In this study, to investigate usage abilities of inhalation instruments of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma patients has been purposed. Patients who stayed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma diognosis N: 405 in İzmir Dr. Suat Seren Chest Diseases and Surgery Education and Investigation Hospital have constituded the investigation cosmos and patients who accepted joining to investigation have constituted the samples N=120 . It was planned as definitive and half experimental study. In collection of datas, demonstration control list which was developed by Ünlü,Şahin, Öztürk and friends 2001 , Bronche Asthma Hand Book which was written by Barış, Şahin, friends 1996 have been utilized, and education text which was improved by the researcher and Individual Information Form have been used. The statistical analysises of datas have been made in the Statical Package for Social Science SPSS for windows 10,0 package program. The percentage account of datas has been made with the synchronized sample t test and ki square test. The avarage points taken before education according to inhalation instruments have been decided for discus, ÖDİ measured dosage inhaler , turbohaler one by one 6,35±1.12, 6,03±1,3, 6,62±1,8, and the avarage points taken after education have been decided for discus, ÖDİ, turbohaler one by one 8.65±0,6, 8.03±1.3, 8.9±0.7. While the ratio of patients who made tecnique well according to the inhalation instruments has been found 53% for turbohaler, 33% for ÖDİ, and 50% for discus before the education, that ratio has been determined 100% for turbohaler, 91% for ÖDİ, and 100% for discus after education. It has been found higher than the previous studies. It is true that the difference of usage abilities of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma patients of inhalation instruments before the education and after the education has been found meaningful
