Küreselleşen dünyada yaşanan hızlı değişim ve dönüşümler sonucunda ülke ekonomilerinde sağlık sektörü önemli bir yer tutmaya başlamıştır. Sağlığa yapılan yatırımlar tıpkı eğitim yatırımları gibi uzun vadede etkisini göstermekte olup ekonomik büyümeyi artırmaktadır. Çünkü sağlık harcamalarında meydana gelen artışlar insanların yaşan beklentisini ve nüfusu artırmaktadır. Nüfus artışı sonucunda artan bilgi birikimi de beşeri sermayenin artmasına neden olarak ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı G20 ülkelerinde sağlık harcamaları, ekonomik büyüme, nüfus ve yaşam beklentisi arasındaki ilişkinin analiz edilmesidir. Bu bağlamda değişkenler arasındaki ilişki panel ARDL testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, uzun dönemde sağlık harcamaları ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilemektedir.
As a result of the rapid changes and transformations in the globalized world, the health sector has begun to hold an important place in the country’s economies. Investments in health have a long-term impact, just like education investments, and increase economic growth. Because the increase in health expenditure increases the expectation of people to live and the population. The increased accumulation of knowledge as a result of the growth of the population also positively affects economic growth as a result of the increase in human capital. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between health expenditure, economic growth, population and life expectancy in the G20 countries. In this context, the relationship between the variables has been analyzed by the ARDL test. According to the results obtained, long-term health expenditure has a positive impact on economic growth.
