Abstract:

While restrictions beginning with the Covid-19 pandemic have affected many sectors, tourism has been one of the most negative sectors affected. The aim of the study is to investigate the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on the consumer's desire to travel and whether the desire to travel will agree to pay extra for their hygiene measures. With the question form prepared in the Google surveys, it has been applied to 207 people who have the potential of local tourists living throughout Turkey through the Internet, with the easy online sample method. Analysis has found that the risk people perceive of Covid-19 pandemic has a negative impact on their intention to travel. It has been shown that attitudes and perceived behavior control have a positive impact on the intention to travel. It has been found that the intention of travel has no effect on the desire to pay extra. The study will contribute to literature, as it is important for consumers to show the conditions they are looking for to travel under pandemic conditions and the determination of the standards of accommodation as well as the importance of travel agencies to offer options to consumers in accordance with their preferences.
