Abstract:

The aim of the study is to reveal the relationship between preschool teachers' organizational commitment and job performance. Relational scanning model was used in the study. The population of the research consists of 343 preschool teachers working in Pamukkale and Merkezefendi districts of Denizli province. Data collected from 241 preschool teachers were used in the study. In the study, parametric tests were used for the data showing normal distribution, and nonparametric tests were used for those that did not show normal distribution. As a result of the study, among the organizational commitment sub-dimensions of the preschool teachers, their moral and self-seeking commitment is very high and their coercive commitment is very low. It has been observed that teachers' job performance perceptions are very high. According to the perceptions of pre-school teachers, there was no significant difference in organizational commitment sub-dimensions and job performances according to marital status, age, professional seniority, union membership, and school professional seniority variables. In the number of children variable, a significant difference emerged only in the sub-dimension of self-interested commitment. The sub-dimension of self-interested commitment of preschool teachers has an 8% effect on the formation of job performance perceptions. In the moral commitment sub-dimension levels, it has been revealed that it has a 13% effect on the formation of job performance perceptions. Necessary precautions can be taken by carrying out studies on various factors that will negatively affect pre-school teachers' job performance perceptions.
