Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the impact of the subjects processed by the 4MAT teaching method in the elementary 7th class Science and Technology course "The structure and characteristics of the material" on students' learning styles. The research is designed in a semi-experimental pattern model with the front and final test control group. The sample of the study consists of a total of 235 (115 tests and 120 controls) 7th-class students studying in 6 branches of 3 primary schools located in Antakya center. Primary schools are selected by the appropriate sample method. In each school selected, a test and a control group were determined by random method. The Unit of Structure and Specifications of the Substance has been processed for 9 weeks (36 lessons) with the 4MAT model in the experimental group and the traditional method in the control group. The data collection is used as a preliminary and final test. In the analysis of the data, the frequency, percentage and percentage change statistics were used. According to the analysis, the most obvious difference in pre- and final learning styles was an increase of 37% in analytical students in the control group and 46% in dynamic students in the experiment group. As a result, learning styles are flexible, the 4MAT teaching method has been shown to be an effective method in addressing students to learning styles. To ensure that all students learn, teachers must prepare the curriculum material in such a way that fits all learning styles and include a variety of methods and techniques in teaching environments.
