Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the frequency of prejudice and factors affecting obese individuals in students who are trained at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Tools and methods: The universe of this research of the Cutting-edge type is formed by all the first and third-class students (N=640) studying at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Fırat. As a data collection tool, the personal information form and the GAMS-27 obesity prediction scale have been used. In the analysis of the data, the SPSS 22.0 package program was used. 84.2% of participants were women and 52.3% were nursing students. The average BKI of students was 21.38 (19.54-23.49) kg/m2. 16.7% of students in the study group found that obese individuals were unpredictable, 61.0% were predictable and 22.3% were predictable. Students in the Nursing Department, non-obese individuals nearby, regular athletes, in groups indicating that they are unpredictable, have seen more predictions than other groups. The total scores of the GAMS-27 obesity prediction scale of students evaluated in the research group do not vary according to gender, age group, class status. The result: Students have a high frequency of predisposition and predisposition against obesity. Multidisciplinary studies should be carried out to increase the level of awareness and awareness to reduce obesity prejudices in students who are the candidates for future health workers.
