Abstract:

Chronic diseases are often long-term health problems that progress slowly, require regular and continuous treatment, care and monitoring. The treatment of a person with a chronic disease is carried out at the hospital in acute or inflammatory periods; the primary treatment and care is carried out at home. Worldwide, chronic diseases, including mainly cardiovascular diseases, cancers, diabetes, stroke and chronic respiratory diseases, are to be a major threat to human health. The quality of life of people with chronic illness is affected in many ways. Improving a person’s quality of life is one of the main objectives of chronic disease treatment. The education and advice provided by a health professional is an important process in strengthening the patient and his family, in the ability to deal with the problems that the disease brings, and therefore in improving the quality of life. The purpose of this collection is to study the impact of having chronic illness on the quality of life and to provide information to health professionals who provide services to chronic patients.
