Bu makale, 2020 yılının ilk aylarından itibaren bütün dünyayı etkilemeye başlayan koronavirüs (Covid-19) salgını ile ilgili spiritüel açıdan bir okuma denemesini kapsamaktadır. Bu çalışmada salgının belirgin özelliklerine odaklanılarak salgının bize neyi öğretebileceği hakkında spiritüel açıdan bir değerlendirme yapılacaktır. İlk önce Çin’in Wuhan kentinde ortaya çıkan ve diğer ülkelere yayılan salgının en sık görülen belirtileri belirtileri, inatçı ve kuru öksürük, nefes alma zorluğu ve yüksek ateştir. Ancak kuluçka döneminde virüsün kimin taşıdığının bilinmemesi pandemiyle başa çıkmada yaşanan en büyük zorluklardandır. Koronavirüsün hızla yayılması sonucu ülkeler sıkı tedbirler almıştır. Bu tedbirlerin başında maske takmak, sosyal mesafeyi korumak, bireysel izolasyon yapmak ve hijyene dikkate etmek gelmiştir. Ayrıca, seyahat sınırlandırmaları ve okulların tatil edilmesi gibi bazı ek tedbirler de alınmıştır. Bütün bunlar yeni bir yaşam tarzını beraberinde getirmiştir. Böylesi bir pandeminin neden bu zamanda ve bu kadar zorlayıcı bir şekilde dünyayı etkilediği sorgulamak ve cevaplamaya çalışmak insan olmanın doğal bir sonucudur. Bu ve benzeri sorulara farklı açılardan cevaplar bulunabilir. Bu yüzden, konuya spiritüel açıdan cevaplar vermek de mümkündür. Korona virüsün hayatın olağan akışını büyük değişikliklere sebep olacak şekilde etkileyen bir pandemiye sebep olması bir yandan da insanlığın içinde bulunduğu durumu anlamlandırmasına ve yaşadığı sıkıntılar açısından alternatif çıkış noktaları aramasına da rehberlik yapabilir. İnsanlığın gittikçe bencilleştiği ve insanların birbirine yabancılaştığı günümüz dünyasında koronavirüs salgını, zor durumlarda belirsizlik duygusu yaşayan insanları anlamaya, nefs ve nefes arasında bir ilişki kurmaya ve ev kavramını yeniden değerlendirmeye olanak sağlamaktadır.
This article covers a spiritual reading attempt on the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic that began to affect the whole world from the first months of 2020. In this study, a spiritual assessment will be made about what the epidemic can teach us, focusing on the distinctive characteristics of the epidemic. The most common signs of the epidemic that first occurred in the Chinese city of Wuhan and spread to other countries are symptoms, persistent and dry cough, difficulty breathing and high fever. However, the fact that the virus is not known to be carried by is one of the biggest difficulties in dealing with the pandemic. As a result of the rapid spread of the coronavirus, countries have taken strict measures. The beginning of these measures was to wear a mask, to preserve social distance, to make individual isolation and to take care of hygiene. Additionally, some additional measures have been taken, such as travel restrictions and school holidays. All of this has brought a new way of life. Asking and trying to answer why such a pandemic affects the world at this time and in such a challenging way is a natural result of being a human being. These and similar questions can be answered from different points of view. Therefore, it is also possible to give answers from a spiritual point of view to the topic. The fact that the corona virus causes a pandemic that affects the normal flow of life in such a way that will lead to major changes can also guide humanity to understand the state in which it is and to seek alternate outputs in terms of the difficulties it experiences. In today’s world where humanity is increasingly selfish and people become alien, the coronavirus epidemic enables people to understand the feeling of uncertainty in difficult situations, to establish a relationship between the soul and the breath, and to re-evaluate the concept of home.
This article consists of an attempt to interpret the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, which started to affect the whole world in the first months of 2020, with a spiritual perspective. In this study, an evaluation of what the pandemic could teach us will be made with a spiritual point of view by focusing on the distinct features of the pandemic. The most common features of the pandemic, which first started in Chinese city of Wuhan and then spread to the whole world, are dry and persistent cough, shortness of breath and high fever. However, the fact that who carries the virus in the incubation period cannot be known is one of the biggest challenges in dealing with the pandemic. Countries have taken strong measures due to the rapid spread of the coronavirus. The most important ones are wearing face masks, keeping social distance, having self-isolation and paying attention to hygiene. Besides, extra precautions such as travel restrictions and closing schools were also taken. All of these have brought forth a new life style. It is part of human nature to inqure and try to answer why such a pandemic hit the world in this particular time and in such a challenging way. These and similar questions could be answered with different points of view. Therefore, it is also possible to answer them with a spiritual perspective. That the coronavirus caused a pandemic which affected the usual flow of life, resulting in major changes, might guide people to interpret the situation they are in and seek for alternative solutions for their problems. In today’s world, in which people are becoming more and more selfish and alienated from each other, the pandemic offers an opportunity for individuals to understand the people who experience the feeling of uncertainty in difficult circumstances, make a connection between the concepts of human soul and breath and re-evaluate the notion of home.
