Türk edebiyatı tarihî sergüzeşti boyunca ilişki kurduğu farklı medeniyet dairelerde karşılaştığı yenilik unsurlarını kendi bünyesine kazandırmıştır. XVIII. yüzyıl itibarıyla devletin modern bir kurumsal yapıya kavuşma çabası millî kültür unsurlarının da yeni terkiplere ulaşmasına imkân sağlamıştır. Yeni Türk edebiyatı da bu modernleşme girişiminin sonucunda XIX. yüzyılın ikinci yarısı itibarıyla Fransız edebiyatı özelinde Batı edebiyatının temel paradigmalarına muvafık bir veçhe kazanmaya çalışmıştır. Halk edebiyatının ve Divan edebiyatının kendilerine mahsus değer dünyaları ve ifade tarzları artık yeni bir gerçeklik ekseninde değişime uğramaya başlamıştır. Tanzimat sonrasında tebarüz eden yeni tarzda edebî eserler Batı edebiyatının tesiri altında şekillenirler. Hikâye sanatı da Halk edebiyatında ve Divan edebiyatında var olan örneklerinden farklı bir duyuş ve ifade tarzı ile bu yenileşme hareketinden payını alır. Edebî eserlerde işlenen hikâyeler Fransız romantizminin, realizminin ve natüralizminin getirmiş olduğu yeni ölçüler eşliğinde okuyucuya sunulurlar. Bu çalışmada Türk edebiyatında yeni bir tür olarak temeyyüz eden modern hikâye sanatının hangi dikkatler eşliğinde gelişmiş olduğu, ne gibi yapısal özellikler arz etmiş olduğu tespit ve teşrih edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
Throughout its historical journey, Turkish literature has incorporated the elements of innovation it encountered in different civilizational circles with which it has established relations. As of the eighteenth century, the state’s effort to attain a modern institutional structure enabled the elements of national culture to reach new compositions. As a result of this modernization attempt, the new Turkish literature tried to gain an aspect in line with the basic paradigms of Western literature, with a special focus on French literature, in the second half of the nineteenth century. The unique value worlds and modes of expression of folk literature and Divan literature began to change on the axis of a new reality. The new style of literary works that emerged after the Tanzimat were shaped under the influence of Western literature. The art of storytelling also gets its share from this renewal movement with a different style of feeling and expression from the examples existing in folk literature and Divan literature. The stories in literary works are presented to the reader with the new measures brought by French romanticism, realism, and naturalism. In this study, it will be tried to determine and analyze the attentions with which the modern story art, which has emerged as a new genre in Turkish literature, has developed and what kind of structural features it has presented.
