19. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren din dışı yayıncılığın yaygınlaşmaya başladığı Yunan harfli Türkçede (Karamanlıca), özellikle gazete ve süreli yayınlarda; editöryel açıklamalar, okur mektupları, tefrika mukaddimeleri gibi yazılarda dil meselesinin gündemde olduğu görülmektedir. Bu meselenin çoğunlukla dilde sadeleşme meselesi, Türkçenin Anadolulu Ortodokslara örgün olarak öğretilmesi, lisan-ı Osmanî’nin devlet kademelerinde yer bulmak üzere gerekliliği, kimi zaman lisan-ı millî ya da lisan-ı maderî olarak tanımlanan Yunancanın Anadolululara kazandırılması gibi başlıklar etrafında tartışıldığı söylenebilir. Bu makalede bütün bu meselelerin söz konusu yayınlarda nasıl ele alındığı üzerinde durulacak ve bu meselelerin Anadolulu Ortodoksların kendi kimlik tanımlarıyla nasıl ilişkili olduğu tartışılacaktır. From the second half of the 19th century, where non-religious publication began to spread in the Greek literal Turkish (Karamanlı), especially in the newspapers and periodic publications; in writings such as editorial statements, readers' letters, thephraic subjects, the language issue appears to be on the agenda. The question of simplification of this issue is mostly in the language, the teaching of Turkish as an example to the Anatolian Orthodox, the need to find a place in the state stages of the Lisan-i Ottoman, and sometimes the granting of Greek to the Anatolian, defined as national or literary, is discussed around the topics. This article will focus on how all of these issues are addressed in the publications concerned and will discuss how these issues are related to the definitions of their identity by the Anatolian Orthodox. Non-religious publications in Turkish written in Greek script (Karamanlidika) began to flourish from the second half of the 19th century. In these publications, the language issue was on the agenda of editorial notes, reader letters, forewords of the feuilletons especially in newspapers and periodicals. In the aforementioned publications, the language issue was mainly discussed in terms of simplification of the language; the formal teaching of the Turkish language to the Anatolian Orthodox community; the necessity of the knowledge of Ottoman Turkish as an official language to be included in the state apparatus and the acquisition of Greek by the Anatolians described sometimes as national or as mother language. This article will analyse these issues and how they are related to the identity formation of the Anatolian Orthodox community.
