Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to introduce the relation between academic major competencies and learning styles of senior students at Ahi Evran University Faculty of Education.The universe of the research consists of 275 students attending Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Education in 2014 - 2015 academic year. In the study, as the data collection tool, a personal information sheet developed by the researcher, the third edition of Kolb Learning Styles Inventory LSI , A2 level Performance Indicators survey pertaining to Teachers Competencies in Their Branches from the General Proficiencies of Teaching Profession was designed and used. At the end of the study it was concluded that no distiguishable statistical difference between the academic major competencies and the learning styles of the senior students could be observed. As for the academic major competencies, it is concluded that there is a significant difference in some variables
