ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ SOSYAL BECERİ ÖĞRETİMİNDE KIBRIS MASALLARININ KULLANIMINA YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞLERİ

Masallar, çocukların dilsel gelişimlerini desteklemekte sosyal ve kültürel çevreye uyumunu kolaylaştırmakta bireyin kültür ve eğitim hayatına katkı sağlamaktadır. Ayrıca kendini ifade etme, iletişim kurma, grupla bir işi yürütme, duygulara yönelik becerilerini ve problem çözme gibi sosyal becerilerini geliştirmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının sosyal beceri öğretiminde Kıbrıs Türk masallarının kullanımına ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koymak ve öneriler geliştirmektir. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma tekniklerinden fenomenolojik (olgubilimsel) yaklaşımına dayalı olarak tasarlanmıştır. Beş açık uçlu sorudan oluşan görüşme soruları, özellikle öğretmen adaylarının Kıbrıs Türk masallarının sosyal beceri öğretimine ilişkin katkılarına yönelik görüşlerinin alınmasına odaklı olarak hazırlanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi ve betimsel analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’ndeki özel bir üniversitede eğitim gören 15 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Bulgular kısmında yer alan tablolarda ortaya çıkan kod ve temalar frekans değerleri verilen örnek ifadeler ile birlikte sunulmuş ve yorumlanmıştır. Öğretmen adaylarına göre Kıbrıs Türk masallarının geliştirdiği sosyal beceriler akran ilişkili beceriler, duygulara yönelik beceriler ve akademik beceriler olarak ortaya konmuştur.

Abstract:

Stories support children’s linguistic development; facilitate their adaptation to the social and cultural environment; contribute to the individual’s cultural and educational life. It also develops social skills such as expressing itself, communicating, conducting a business with a group, emotion-oriented skills and problem-solving. The aim of the study is to present the opinions of teachers candidates on the use of Cyprus Turkish tales in the teaching of social skills and to develop suggestions. This study is designed on the basis of the phenomenological (logubilogy) approach from research techniques. The discussion questions consisting of five open end questions are prepared with a focus on taking the opinions of teaching candidates, in particular, on their contribution to the teaching of social skills of the Cyprus Turkish fairy tales. The obtained data is analyzed by content analysis and visual analysis. The study group consists of 15 teachers candidates who are educated at a private university in the Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic. The codes and themes that appear in the tables in the findings section are presented and interpreted along with sample expressions given frequency values. According to the teaching candidates, the social skills developed by the Cyprus Turkish fairy tales; associated skills, emotions-oriented skills and academic skills have been shown.

Fairy tales support the linguistic development of children; facilitates its adaptation to the social and cultural environment; contributes to the cultural and educational life of the individual. In addition, it develops social skills such as self-expression, communication, working with a group, emotional skills and problem solving. The aim of the study is to reveal the opinions of prospective teachers on the use of Cyprus Turkish fairy tales in social skills teaching. This study was designed based on the phenomenological approach, one of the qualitative research techniques. The five open-ended interview questions were prepared with the focus of getting the opinions of the pre-service teachers on the contribution of the Cyprus Turkish fairy tales to teaching of social skills. The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis. The study group consists of 15 pre-service teachers studying at a private university in the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus. According to pre-service teachers, social skills developed by Cyprus Turkish fairy tales were revealed as peer-related skills, emotional skills and academic skills.
