ÖZ Türkiye’nin temel ekonomik sorunlarının başında sermaye yetersizliği, işsizlik, teknoloji yetersizliği ve yönetim bilgi eksikliği gelmektedir. Doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları diğer gelişmekte olan ülkelerde olduğu gibi Türkiye için de bu eksiklikleri gidermede önemli bir araçtır. Yapılan çalışmalarda genellikle doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının ekonomik büyüme üzerinde olumlu bir etki yarattığı görülmüştür. Doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının hedef ülkede bazen ekonomik krizlere yol açtığı da bir diğer önemli bulgudur. Literatüre bakıldığında genel olarak doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının Türkiye gibi gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ekonomisine olumlu katkı sağladığı söylenebilir. Bu çalışmada 2005Q1-2015Q3 verileri dikkate alınarak doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları (DYSY) ile gayri safi yurtiçi hasıla (GSYİH) (ekonomik büyüme) arasında Johansen Eşbütünleşme ve Granger Nedensellik ilişkileri test edilmiştir. Analiz sonucuna göre doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımları ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemde Johansen Eşbütünleşme ilişkisi bulunmuştur. Ayrıca söz konusu değişkenler arasında çift yönlü Granger Nedensellik ilişkisi de vardır. Son olarak yapılan Etki-Tepki analizleriyle de nedensellik ilişkisi doğrulanmıştır.

ABSTRACT The most important economic problems of Turkey’s are insufficient capital and technology, unemployment and lacks of management knowledge. Foreign direct investments are important means to eliminate these problems for Turkey as well as in other developing countries. In some related studies positive impact of foreign direct investments on economic growth was observed. On the other hand, another important finding reached in study is that foreign direct investments caused economic crisises in the target country. However, in the literature review about the topic, foreign direct investments make positive contribution to economy in developing countries, such as Turkey. In this study the existence of Johansen cointegration and Granger causality relationship between foreign direct investments and economic growth are tested by using data for 2005Q1-2015Q3 period. According to conclusion of analysis it is concluded that there is Johansen cointegration relationship between foreign direct investment and economic growth in long term. Also, bidirectional Granger causality relationship between these variables exists. Finally causality relation is confirmed by conducting impulse-response analysis.
