The Russian Federation was not a superpower at the time it was established. However, given the values he had, he was also far beyond the regional power. The Russian Federation has officially established its relationship with the European Union. The European Union is not concerned about this. However, both sides had different expectations on the beginning and continuation of this relationship. This is the reason for the countries in the nearby surroundings who want to establish a relationship with the West. With Putin's leadership, significant developments have also occurred near the Russian Federation. In particular, after the expansion of the EU in 2004, it has reacted at action level to developments in Georgia and Ukraine. This article examines the reaction of the Russian Federation to Western efforts in Georgia and Ukraine and the impact of this on the relationship between the Russian Federation and the European Union.
