Mimarlık eğitiminin vazgeçilmez mekanları olan stüdyolarla ilgili olarak kullanılan yöntemler, sonuç ürünler ve deneyimler gibi farklı bakış açıları üzerine bugüne kadar birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmaların ortak paydası stüdyo ortamlarının kendisinin eğitimin bir parçası olduğudur. Ne var ki, 2019 yılında başlayan Covid-19 pandemisi sürecinde birçok alanda olduğu gibi mimarlık eğitiminde de devrim niteliğinde ani bir değişim yaşanmıştır. Alışılagelen yüz yüze stüdyoların yerini çevrimiçi ya da uzaktan stüdyolar almıştır. Böylesine köklü bir stüdyo ortamı ve biçimi değişikliği hem stüdyo katılımcıları olan öğrenciler hem de yürütücüler açısından yepyeni bir deneyim olmuş ve birçok zorluğu da beraberinde getirmiştir. Mimarlık eğitimini kayda değer bir biçimde etkileyen bu sürecin paylaşılması ve farklı deneyimlerin aktarılması, sistemdeki aksaklıkların fark edilmesi ve geliştirilmesi açısından önemlidir. Bu bağlamda, “BigBlueButton” (BBB) uygulamasıyla çevrimiçi stüdyo olarak gerçekleştirilen Atatürk Üniversitesi Mimarlık Bölümü yedinci yarıyıl mimari proje stüdyosu kapsamında Erzurum tarihi kent dokusunda çalışılan öğrenci ve sosyal merkez, kent kütüphanesi, koruma ve sosyal merkez gibi sosyal ve kamusal içerikli projeler süreç kurgusu, bağlamsal analizler ve proje ürünleri üzerinden aktarılmıştır. Ayrıca stüdyo süreci boyunca pandemi koşulları ve çevrimiçi ortamlardan kaynaklı aksaklıklar ve geliştirilen olası çözüm yolları ifade edilerek sonuç kısmında uzaktan eğitim sürecinin olumlu ve olumsuz yanları üzerine değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
Many studies have been carried out on different perspectives such as the methods used, the result products, and experiences related to the studios, which are indispensable places of architectural education. The common denominator of these studies is that studio environments are themselves a part of education. However, during the Covid-19 pandemic that started in 2019, there has been a revolutionary change in architectural education, as in many other fields. The traditional face-to-face studios have been replaced by online or distance studios. Such a radical change in studio environment and format has been a brand new experience for both the students who are the studio participants and the executives, and it has brought with it many challenges. It is important to share this process, which significantly affects architectural education, and to convey different experiences, in terms of recognizing and developing the problems in the system. In this context, social and public projects such as student and social center, city library, conservation and social center, which were studied in the historical urban fabric of Erzurum within the scope of the seventh-semester architectural project studio of Atatürk University Department of Architecture, which was realized as an online studio with the "BigBlueButton" (BBB) application, are in process. fiction, contextual analyzes, and project products. In addition, during the studio process, the problems caused by pandemic conditions and online environments and possible solutions were expressed and an evaluation was made on the positive and negative aspects of the distance education process in the conclusion part.
