Purpose: This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the relationship between the perception of professionalism in nursing students and commitment to professional values. Tools and Methods: This study, which is of a defining type, was conducted with 278 nursing students. The research data was collected with data collection form, Nurses' Professional Values Scale-Revise (HMDÖ-R) and Professional Attitude Inventory (MPTE). In statistical analysis; Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman's correlation analysis were used. The average age of students is 20 (18-35). It is determined that if students perceive nursing as a professional profession, they consider to do nursing after graduation, they are a fourth-class nursing student, they plan to be a member of academic career and professional organizations, MPTE’s total score average increases (p<0.05). However, in those with special interest in nursing and in women students, the total score average of HMDÖ-R and MPTE is high (p<0.05). According to the correlation analysis; a positive relationship was found between HMDÖ-R and MPTE's total points (p<0.05). The result: the study found that nursing students who adopted professionalism were also dependent on their professional values. This commitment draws attention to students with a special interest in the nursing profession.

The study data was collected using a data collection form, the Nurses Professional Values Scale - Revised (NPVS-R) and the Inventory of Professional Attitude at Occupation (IPAO). Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman’s correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Results: The median age of students was 20 (18-35). It was determined that the median of total IPAO score was increased when the students perceived nursing as a professional occupation, thought about practicing nursing after graduation, were fourth-year nursing students, and planned to make an academic career and become a member of professional organizations (p<0.05). Additionally, the median total NPVS-R and IPAO scores were found to be high among the respondents with a special interest in nursing and who were female (p<0.05). According to correlation analysis, a positive relationship was found between NPVS-R and IPAO total scores (p<0.05). Conclusion: It was concluded from the study that nursing students who adopted professionalism are committed to professional values, and such a commitment was particularly apparent among the students with a special interest in the nursing profession.
