Nowadays, to have thinking skills of individuals is a necessity in the contemporary world. Learning to think has gained importance instead of exchanging information in education. Therefore, modern schools have tried to train individuals who are aware of the ways of accessing information as thinking and criticizing ones and also prepared educational programs towards gaining thinking skills to their students. In this study, both critical thinking skills levels of university students and the differentiation of these levels by demographic variables such as gender, birth place, parent's job and occupations and the number of their siblings have been examined. In this quantitative research the study group has consisted of first and second grade students of a foundation university in North Cyprus. For gathering data, both individual information form developed by researher and "California Critical Thinking Scale" adapted to Turkish language by Kökdemir 2003 have been used. Its six subscales are analitical thinking, open mindedness, curiosity, self-confidence, looking for the truth, systematic thinking. Statistical analysis of the research findings has been continued
